Adsorption of cyt c molecules to flavin monolayers was analyzed by Gibbs' adsorption isotherm, and the effect of ionic strength on the adsorption was studied by reflection spectroscopy. Cyt c molecules adsorbed the most to the flavin monolayer which has two carbonyl groups. It was concluded from these analyses that the adsorption of cyt c to flavin monolayers depends mainly on the electrostatic interaction between positive charges on the surface of the cyt c molecule and negative charges of the flavin monolayer.
