This paper outlines the investigation of mixing enthalpies and total crystal energies of (GaAs)_<1-x>(Ge_2)_x with disordered diamond structure using a pseudopotential perturbation approach. The calculated results show that disordered (GaAs)_<1-x>(Ge_2)_x is metastable and has a miscible region over the entire concentration range at very low temperatures in contrast with those of ordered (GaAs)_<1-x>(Ge_2)_x.
