The output energies of Rh-6G dye lasers were enhanced by energy transfer in mixtures of Rh-6G/C-545 and Rh-6G/Rh-560. The laser was pumped by a coaxial flashlamp filled with argon gas. The output energies were enhanced by aobut 70% and 30%, respectively, using 0.4 〜 1% C-545 and Rh-560 mixtures with respect to the concentration of Rh-6G. Comparison of experimental results and calculations showed that the dominant energy transfer mechanisms were the nonradiative transfer from S_2→S_0 of Rh-6G to S_0→S_1 of donor, and then the radiative transfer from S_1→S_0 of donor to S_0→S_1 of acceptor, Rh-6G.
