A New Method of Estimating the Superconducting Volume Fraction in High-T_c Superconductors

A new method is proposed to estimate the superconducting volume fraction in a high-T_c oxide superconductor. It is based on mixed-state magnetization and calculated from the reversible portion of the magnetization curve in a high field range. The method is inherently free from the Meissner fraction ambiguity; therefore, it is more appropriate for the evaluation of high-T_c oxide than the conventional methods based on perfect diamagnetism.
