Spontaneous Magnetization Phenomena in Pyrolyzed Organic Cornpounds Containing Nitrogen Atoms

Organic compounds exhibiting spontaneous magnetization were obtained by the pyrolysis of 2,4,6-triphenoxy-1,3,5-triazine (TPTA)/benzoguanamine(BG), TPTA/melamine(M), BG/m-phenylenediamine(PDA), M/m-PDA and guanine(G). The magnetically active components of pyrolyzed TPTA/M, BG/m-PDA, M/m-PDA and G exhibit ferrimagneticlike behavior. The largest saturation magnetization M_s(2.25 emu・G/g) has been found in the magnetically active component of guanine pyrolyzed at 600℃. Spin concentration in this component estimated from the electron spin resonance (ESR) signal is 4.25 x 10^<19> spins/g.
