TTウイルス(TTV)は,世界的に分布するヒトの感染性因子であるばかりでなく,その感染はヒト以外にも多種類の霊長類に認められる.本研究では,タイで飼育されている67頭のテナガザル由来血清を用いてPCRによりTTV核酸の増幅を行い,その塩基配列に基づき,ヒト由来TTVとヒト以外の霊長類由来TTVとの遺伝学的関係を系統解析により調べた.その結果,調べたテナガザル67頭中9頭(13.4%)にTTV核酸が検出された.さらに,そのうち6頭のPCR産物の塩基配列を調べ,霊長類由来TTVのデータベースを用いて系統解析を行ったところ,テナガザル由来ウイルスは,タイのヒト由来ウイルスとは近く,チンパンジー由来ウイルスとはより遠い関係にあることが判明した.
