Investigations of Beams Emittance of a Hollow Cathode Ion Source

In this article the two-dimensional emittance and brightness for the maximum ion beam current of a hollow cathode ion source is measured. The determination of beam emittance at various source parameters is reported. It is shown that for 50% of the beam at 15 keV the emittance is about 8 mm. mrad. MeV^<1/2>, while more than 70% of the particle' density is included.
