A model consisting of a regular distribution of spherical particles of a dispersed phase forming a simple cubic lattice in a continuous phase has been considered in estimating the effective thermal diffusivity (α_e) of a homogeneous two-phase (loose material) system. Considering the dispersions of dielectric spheres and conducting spheres, flux modifications have been evaluated using the Green function technique. By choosing the required order interaction and considering the modified thermal diffusivity of individual phases, the effective thermal diffusivities (α_e) of two-phase systems have been predicted.
