The Majorana transition and the beam optics configuration are analysed for the purpose of designing the hydrogen maser state selector which selects only desired atoms for oscillation. In this state selection, the double focalization method and the Majorana transitions which reverse the atomic polarization are used in order to eliminate undesirable atoms. The polarization reversal is obtained by calculating the transition probabilities of the atomic spin in the reverse magnetic field. The beam optics configuration is also analysed for the purpose of effective elimination. Based on these analyses, the state selection is successfully attained, and about 90% of the undesirable atoms are eliminated.
