Together with the completion at Osaka University of an L-band linear accelerator which can produce single-bunch pulses, a time structure monitoring system to insure its stable operation was developed, and it has worked well for several years now. Electron pulses from the accelerator are injected into a gas filled radiator and are there by converted to Cherenkov light which reflects the fast-time structure. After a flight path of 15 m, light pulses are analyzed by a streak camera with a time resolution of 9.6±1.0 ps. A minimum single-bunch width of electrons was estimated to be 27.6±7.2 ps. With this system, other parameters of electron pulses can also be evaluated.
