• Various samples of Hg_<1-x>Mn_xTe with x=0, 0.0025 and 0.1 were investigated for the relative shifts of the atoms in the unit cell using the X-ray single-crystal technique. It was found that the lattice constants, on the average, decrease with increasing x as Mn dopants entered by random substituton into the unit cell.
