Measurement of the Spin Hamiltonian Parameters of Cu^<2+> Ion in Zn^<2+>-Doped CaCd(CH_3COO)_4・6H_2O

The spin Hamiltonian parameters (g_<||>, g_<⊥>, A_<||> and A_<⊥>) of Cu^<2+> in Zn^<2+>-doped CCDAH have been determined in the temperature range of 300 K to 15 K. The temperature variation of the normalized intensity of the Cu^<2+> hyperfine lines was also studied in the above temperature range. Our data show that g_<⊥>, A_<ll> and A_<⊥> values are unaffected by the presence of Zn^<2+> impurities in the crystal, while the g_<||> changes significantly from the corresponding values previously reported for pure CCDAH (i.e., without Zn^<2+> doping). While g_<||>, varied slightly with temperature (from 2.366 at 300 K to 2.351 at 15 K), g_<⊥> remained virtually unaffected by temperature.
