A new reflective direct-view display using a mixed-mode twisted-nematic liquid crystal cell is demonstrated. This display mode exhibits high contrast, wide viewing angle, fast response time, good gray scale, good colorimetry performance while eliminating parallax. Computer simulations and confirming experimental results are presented.
