The maximum tunnelling supercurrent between superconductors partitioned by a dielectric (barrier which has special characteristic which allows supercurrent to pass through it) has been investigated. The expression has been derived, computed and discussed for the possible maximum tunnelling supercurrent in terms of parameters of the Josephson junction. The parameters are thicknesses (l_1, l_2 and d_1), penetration depths (λ_1 and λ_2), dielectric constant and loss tangent tan(δ), etc. The temperature dependence of the tunnelling conductance is derived in terms of propagation constants and parameters of the Josephson junction by using the transmission coefficient obtained from the solution of the one dimensional Schrodinger's equation which has been ignored previously. Such investigations are useful for superconducting electronics.
