Piezoelectric Properties at Polarization Reversal Process and Coercive Force of 0-3 Composite of Polymer and Ceramic Powder Mixture of PZT and PbTiO_3 : Piezoelectrics

Piezoelectric d constants (d_<33>, d_h and d_<31>) of 0-3 composites of polymer and ceramic powder mixture of PZT and PbTiO_3 at the polarization reversal process were measured at room temperature as a function of electric field after applying a reverse poling electric field to the prepoled composite specimens. Coercive force was obtained as a reverse poling field to make the piezoelectric d constants (d_<33>, d_h and d_<31>) of the specimens zero. Coercive forces for d_<33>, d_<31> and d_h were different for the composites of polymer and ceramic powder mixture of PZT/PbTiO_3 although they were identical for those of polymer and single ceramic powder (PZT or PbTiO_3). These results are discussed theoretically based on a proposed model.
