The Ag/Si(110) system has been studied by RHEED-TRAXS (reflection high-energy electron diffraction-total reflection angle X-ray spectroscopy). The (9, 3)×(9^^-, 3) and 5×4 structures were formed depending on the amount of Ag adsorption. When Ag adsorbed to 2.47 monolayers or more, Ag crystals grew epitaxially in the StransKi-Krastanov mode. A two-dimensional phase diagram was made for this system.
