Composition Dependence of Electrooptic Effects in (Pb,La)(Zr,Ti)O_2 Ceramics

Electrooptic ceramics of (Pb,La)(Zr,Ti)O_3 were fabricated by a combination of the partial-coprecipitation and doctor-blade methods. The composition dependence of electrical properties and electrooptic effects were investigated. Polarization dependence on the electric field in the D-E hysteresis was somewhat larger in the 8/70/30 composition than that in the 9/65/35 composition. Accordingly, the half-wave voltage and the deflection angle of the 8/70/30 composition were one and a half to two times larger than those of the 9/65/35 composition.
