The effect of field flash annealing (which combines the application of an electrical current pulse to the sample and the simultaneous application of a longitudinal magnetic field) on the do magnetic properties of amorphous ferromagnetic Fe_<40>Ni_<40>B_<20> ribbon is studied. It is found that such a technique can be used to improve the softness in magnetic properties of the alloy when the magnitude of current pulse is less than a certain value, beyond which the sample becomes harder.
