The magnetization mechanism proposed by Globus and Guyot has been extended phenomenologically to a hysteresis loop with a relatively large maximum magnetization. The effects of magnetization rotation and of the adjacent grain are taken into account. The squareness ratio is discussed and is shown to have a maximum as a function of the amplitudo of the magnetic field for measuring hysteresis loops. It is concluded that the lower limit and the upper limit in grain size for the appearance of a square loop could be determined by the effects of the magnetization rotation and of the adjacent grain, respectively. The effect of stress anisotropy has also been discussed.
