The properties of thermoluminescent dosimeter are investigated by the theoretical interpretation of the radiothermoluminescent phenomenon of the phosphors. The radiothermoluminescence is interpreted more inclusively if the creation of thermoluminescent traps by irradiation and the fading during irradiation are taken into account. The dependences of the thermoluminescence light sum (the response of thermoluminescent dosimeter) on dose, dose rate and irradiation time is qualitatively described by the first order kinetics model of monoenergetic electron traps. The two examples are discussed. The conclusions deduced from the model are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.
