The electroluminescence in various types of CdTe diffused diodes prepared under different conditions is studied by examining spectral responses, relative intensities at 77°K and peak wavelength of the luminescent bands as functions of current and temperature. The emission band which locates at the shortest wavelength and has anomalous temperature dependence may be originated in recombination through the native defect in CdTe.
