In the present parer, the multi-detector method for obtaining neutron dose equivalent rates is discussed in detail by the use of the theory of orthonormal expansion. An examination of two different procedures in which the real or adjoint flux, respectively, is used shows that the "Adjoint Flux Procedure" is better for neutrons of broad range spectra and also for monoenergetic neutrons.
