An effect of Cu_2O on the persistent internal polarization of (Zn,Cd)S dispersed in the insulator binder was investigated. For an appropriate addition of Cu_2O, the polarity of charges of the storage layer was reversed, that is, the charges had the same polarity as the electrode in contact with the storage layer. The charges are shown as functions of decay time, electric field, length of application of external field, and light irradiation intensity. It was consequently presumed that the trap due to (Zn,Cd)S captures charges of the opposite polarity to the electrode in contact with the storage layer and the trap due to Cu_2O captures charges of the same polarity as that electrode. furthermore it was necessary to consider the interaction between the charges respectively trapped due to (Zn,Cd)S and Cu_2O.
