A new method of measuring the magnitude dispersion of magnetic anisotropy has been developed which makes it possible to determine the magnitude dispersion, independently of the angular dispersion. Measurement of torque was carried out by reversing the magnetization with the increasing field 135° from the average easy direction of a film. The angular dispersion was measured by the conventional 90° method. Results were compared with those obtained by ferromagnetic resonance and found to give a reasonable agreement with the latter for films with small dispersions.
