NMR Study of Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17> and Y(Fe_yCo_<1-y>)_5

Nuclear magnetic resonances of Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17> and Y(Fe_yCo_<1-y>)_5 are observed at liquid N_2 temperature using the spin echo method. A different Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17> NMR behavior from that of Y(Fe_yCo_<1-y>)_5 is interpreted by the existence of antiferromagnetic exchange interaction of the Fe-Fe pair, with the shortest distance in Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17>. Intensity changes with x of Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17> are consistent with the magnetic anisotropy behavior of the single crystal. It is also shown that replacement of Co by Fe in Y_2(Fe_xCo_<1-x>)_<17> proceeds with a preference.
