Accurate lattice parameter measurements using Bond's method were made on Czochralski grown gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) single crystals. The sign and magnitude of the lattice parameter variations along the growth direction were found to depend on the melt compositions and were well explained by the normal freeze equation model. The congruently melting composition was determined to be approximately 61.87 mol% Ga_2O_3, which is in good agreement with the value (61.85 mol %) proposed by Allibert et at. The lattice parameter of a GGG single crystal with the congruently melting composition is expected to be about 12.3835 Å.
