A simple method of the measurement of the photoelastic constants using 0-th Raman-Nath diffraction is proposed. The method is applied to a measurement of the photoelastic constants of Vycor glass. Results obtained are P_<11>=0.145 and P_<12>=0.295, with an estimated accuracy of a few %.
