The design and some performances of a side-coupled structure used in an electron linac are described. The high shunt impedance of 97 MΩ/m is obtained at 3 GHz. With a peak rf power of 1.4 MW and a 270 mm long structure, the peak beam current of 130 mA can be accelerated from 70 keV to 4 MeV. This means that the peak accelerating field of about 30 MV/m is stably obtained. Moreover, the diameter of the accelerated electron beam is less than 2 mm without external focusing.
