The magnetogasdynamic externally pressurized bearin with converging film in the presence of an axial magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that the load capacity of an externally pressurized bearing is increased by the application of a magnetic field. The externally pressurized bearing can support more load by using an adiabatic lubricant than using an isothermal lubricant. Further it is seen that the load capacity of converging film is more than that of uniform film.
