Under some operating condition of the coaxial plasma gun, the plasma stream ejected from the gun consists of two components, i.e. the fast component and the slow component. A trial is made to remove the slow component blob from the plasma stream by applying fast rising transverse magnetic field in the plasma guiding space at a time when the fast component blob has passed through and the slow component blob doesnot arrive. The slow component blob is blocked by the fast rising transverse magnetic field of 5000 G. The blocking ability of the oscillating transverse magnetic field is inferior compared to that of the quasi-static field, i.e. the oscillating magnetic field crowbared at its first maximum.
