A new method termed "Electrophoresis Diffusion Equilibrium", which enable direct determination of the charge of polyelectrolytes, has been developed. In this article the principle of this method and the time required to determine the charge of polyelectrolytes are discussed and the schematic diagram of this apparatus is shown. The charge of Potassium Polyvinyl Alcohol Sulfate (PVS-K) is determined in Miller andGolder's buffer with pH=7.00 and the ionic strength I=0.20. The value of the charge obtained by this method agrees with the result obtained by electrophoresis and diffusion method.
