Some problems break out with the introduction of automatic machines in Swedish weight sounding tests. One of those tests can be applied to the estimation of N-value. So, the manual and the automatic Swedish weight sounding tests, and the standard penetration tests have been conducted at many places. The N-values, at the same depth which are obtained from these tests, are examined through various statistical analyses. As a result, the irrational matter of the automatic Swedish sounding tests and the mechanical specific which ensures the accuracy of estimation of N-value is clarified.
