In this paper, an experimental study concerned with SST was conducted. First, the assessment of the human response to sonic boom was studied by using a sonic boom simulator. The results show that A-weighted Sound Exposure Level (ASEL) and Perceived Level (PL) are proper metric for evaluating boom acceptance. Next, we developed the method of aerodynamic design that could produce the body volume corresponding to low boom waveform. And then, the wind tunnel test on low boom design configuration was conducted. Finally, we confirmed that the expected low boom waveform was achieved.
