The volume of bubble region caused by free fall of water body into still water surface was analyzed experimentally. The study was performed to confirm the result of another experiment performed to examine the bubble property caused in the breaker zone. The entrained bubble in the breaker zone should be considered to be responsible for gas transfer through the air-water interface of the breaker. The color image sensor, which is a special video camera that can count number of dots, or pixels, of specific color was used to analyze bubble region. As a result of the present study, it was confirmed that the bubble region is strongly controlled by the energy dissipation rate per unit mass of the free falling water body, ε, and is proportional to the cubic power of it. The result is almost coincident with the one obtained in an experiment using breaker on a sloping beach in a wave tank.
