The simulation of the bow damages was attempted by drop-testing two structural bow models, following the two previous tests^<1,2)>. The author confirmed that the same bow damage could be reproduced in the models as in the actual bows of the large full ships under repeated impacts with stem-wave angle α of 0 deg. at impact velocity V_0 of 8 m/s. And it was estimated that the impact pressure that could be expected at the bow plating during wave impacts were of the order of 330 t/m^2 in terms of uniform static pressure. From the test results it was considered that if the impact pressure acting on a panel should be ex-pressed in terms of the equivalent static pressure P_<eq>, Plastic collapse pressure (upper bound) P_f for a fully clamped rectangular steel plate provides a good estimate of the limit beyond which no perceptible permanent sets would occur under repeated impacts. Furthermore, after the examination of some damaged and undamaged panels in some severely damaged ship bows, it was concluded that the impact pressure would be of the order of 330 t/m^2 at the most for a shell plate with standard size located in the critical parts of the bow similar to the bow form A^<3)> which is peculiar to large full ships.
