As stated in the first report, by steam distillation of crude oil, a fuel oil having the flash point of about 66℃ may be obtained. Then, we built a pilot plant with the capacity of 15∼40 l/h and tested Kuwait, Seria and Khafji crude oil, for confirmation of the possibility to apply the method to actual cases, continuous operation or on tankers. Analysing test results, we improved the apparatus with consideration to problems which we may encounter in practical cases on tankers.
