In the study of static and fatigue strength of riveted joints in ship hull construction, the authors have made its approach by means of tension test of full-sized test specimens, several of the results of which have previously been presented. In this paper, the authors have made studies, from the large amount of test results obtained from above experiments, on water-proof strength, yield strength and breaking strength of riveted joints which vary with the type of joint and the position of shifted riveted joints at adjacent strakes.
