The Dynamics of a system in which electric current and vorticity coexist are examined by means of numerical simulations of collisions between two current-vortex filaments. The configuration of the filaments becomes chaotic if a low-symmetrical configuration is used for the initial condition of the filaments. We conclude that the chaotic process works to enhance the reconnection rate of the filaments. We propose a similar chaotic process as a candidate for the mechanism of fast magnetic reconnection.
