Toroidicity-induced Alfven eigenmodes (TAE modes) are investigated in JT-60U in ITER-relevant conditions, i.e., the plasma current (I_P) up to 4 MA and the safety factor down to 2.8, using second harmonic minority ion ICRF heating. Higher n (toroidal mode number) modes appear with increasing I_P . Reduction of MeV ion population due to TAE modes is in proportion to TAE mode amplitudes, but becomes less important at high density, although TAE amplitudes are still large. It is demonstrated that the non-inductive current profile control method is effective for control of TAE modes.
