• Development of plasma engine has emerged from research phase and been brought into practical application. Underlying plasmadynamics is still continued to be studied for upgrading the thrust performance. Research interests in the Magneto plasma dynamic (MPD) and DC arcjets are reviewed. Also introduced are their space flight applications accomplished in the past and those planned in the near future.
