This paper reviews recent experimental research using ultra-high-power laser. The intensity achievable with PW-level lasers now reaches 10^<21> W/cm^2. At that intensity, the quiver velocity of electrons increases to be fully relativistic. The hopes for application of these laser-plasmas to nuclear physics experiments become larger and larger. Although the intensity is still lower than required for direct excitation of the nucleus, the recent nuclear reaction experiments with PW-lasers and the trend of this field will be described. The plan of future investigations will be also introduced.
