An ideal management & production informationThe core subsystems which form the Japanese production system consist of Just In Time,Total Quality Control,and Total Productive Maintenance.As a plant being automated,the importance of participative TPM increases.For the manufacturers to survive,the means of Computer Integrated Manufacturing is needed. The present paper discusses the relationships of CIM with TPM.Before to implement CIM,it is desired that JIT,TQC, and TPM would be established.The concept of "maintenance prevention" should be understood in the CIM and supported by participated everyone. On the other hand, CIM should provide TPM with machine auto-inspection and networks. It should be economically justified by the mutual advantage of facts that CIM promote TPM and that TPM stimulate CIM.
