The goal of this study is firstly to develop a multi-item student information system usage (SISU) measurement scale. Secondly, this study aims to identify the factors and conditions that influence the usage of information systems by students. This study focuses on both computerized and non-computerized information systems used by university students in order to carry out their academic work. Both personal factors and information systems related factors were studied. Thirdly, this study examines the use of SIS by Japanese university students in order to understand the influence of national culture. A Japanese version of the questionnaire was distributed to undergraduate students during their tutorials. Results, discussion, recommendations are discussed followed by a conclusion.
