A Skip-Undoing Approach for Cooperative Database Operations

In cooperative database processing, some cooperative users may update some data without knowledge of other users actions. Once other users' actions are known, in order to keep the database consistency, some users or the system may need to undo some operations to resolve some conflicts or inconsistency. However, most cooperative systems do not support undoing an earlier operation except the last operation. This paper focuses on undoing operations to support database consistency in cooperative environments. Firstly some functions such as Conflict function, Transpose function and Inverse function are defined, and their Properties are given. Based on these functions, a set of Skip-undoing approach for conflict resolution are proposed.
