Analytical Models are integral components of most decision support systems (DSS) applications that are implemented in organisations. These applications enable users to have convenient access to vast quantities of data that can be flexibly linked to one or more analytical models and easy-to-learn-and-use interfaces to support decision making under uncertain conditions. There is a growing recognition that such models are an integral component of office and organisational information systems in addition to programs and data. However, progress toward elegant conceptualizations and implementation of the notion of integrated modelling systems (IMS) has been slow. In this paper we present a conceptualization of integrated modelling systems (IMS) and propose an approach for its implementation using third generation, object-relational database technology.
