The new education system brought by civilization and enlightenment created the primary school in place of classic Japanese schools. By picking up the primary school buildings' elevation view of the Meiji period from the prefectural documents of Miyagi, divided into three eras by its characteristics on the exterior design, order by lapse of time. In the first era, Japanese and simulated-western style architecture are found. But it declines in mid era, and the eclectic style birthed, taking over the both styles' factors. Eclectic style developed in the last era, making it the standardization of the primary school buildings.
