Aminooxyacetic acid (AOA) inhibited photoperiodically induced flowering in Pharbitis nil. The application of AOA to the plumule just after an inductive period was the most effective in inhibiting flowering. A correlation between inhibition of flowering and inhibition of glutamic-ox-alacetic transaminase activity was observed with fifteen aminooxy derivatives.
