The triazol derivatives, S-3307, S-3308, triadimefon, triadimenol and paclobutrazol are recommended for use as either fungicides or plant growth regulators. However, in varying degrees they exhibit both properties. In a comparative study with 5 different fungi, S-3308 followed by S-3307, were the most fungitoxic (in vitro) whereas S-3307 and paclobutrazol were the most active plant growth retardants in bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.).
