The uptake, transport and stability of ABA after foliar application to cucumber plants was studied using [2-^<14>C] ABA. ABA uptake through uninjured epidermis of cucumber leaves appeared to be very slow compared with the uptake through abraded leaves. Transport of [2-^<14>C] ABA in the same system was also found to be very slow. No metabolic changes in the absorbed [2-^<14>C] ABA were detected 24 hr after its application as checked by TLC and GLC techniques. These results are compared and discussed in relation to previous reports.
