5-Fluorodeoxyuridine(FUDR), actinomycin D(Act・D), puromycin aminonucleoside(puromycin) and 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) were used to_ analyze the development of amine oxidase and ascorbate oxidase in, and the growth of pea seedlings. Both ascorbate oxidase development and growth were inhibited by administration of FUDR, and this effect was alleviated by the addition of thymidine. The development of amine oxidase was less sensitive to FUDR. Act・D and puromycin significantly inhibited both development of the enzyme and growth of the seedlings. On the other hand, 5-FU inhibited growth of the seedlings and ascorbate oxiadse development, but had no remarkable effect on the synthesis of amine oxidase.
